Terms of Let

Please take a moment to read through the following information. This will help ensure an enjoyable stay in our cottages for both you and those who come after you. In addition, if you are thinking of booking a cottage between November and March, please read the information on Winter Lets.

Time of Lets

Lets are from 3.30pm on the Saturday of your arrival until 10.00am on the Saturday of your departure. However if these times are very inconvenient we can normally manage to be flexible given good notice. We do not let the cottages for weekends, unless you’re willing to pay for two weeks! Very occasionally a weekend let might be possible in low season or if there has been a last minute cancellation that we have failed to fill.

Care of the Cottages

We let the cottages on the understanding that tenants will look after them and leave them clean and tidy. We are sorry but ‘clean’ means exactly that as there is not time on a Saturday to deal with a dirty cooker or shower and your rent does not include cleaning. It takes all our time to make beds, check everything and clean the bits that we don’t expect you to do.
If anything is not working properly or you break something please, please tell us immediately. You might not mind about it but to those following it could be essential and a note on a Saturday morning is useless! We ask you to add payment for any breakages to your electricity at the end of your stay. The cottages are designed and equipped for a MAXIMUM of 8 people. Please do not try and fit in any more than this, even a small baby.

Payment

A deposit of £50.00 per week is required on booking the cottage. The balance of the rent must be paid six weeks before you arrive, or the whole rent due if you book less than six weeks in advance. Payment of electricity and telephone is made at the end of your stay. Electricity costs are calculated from meter readings (there are no coin in the slot meters). Telephone calls to UK landlines are free in the evenings and at weekends. Guidance on paying for other calls is by the telephone.

You can pay in several ways. Electronically directly into our bank account (details on confirmation of your booking), by cheque payable to “Glendrynoch Cottages”, by PayPal (an extra 3%) or on-line through the link to Love to Escape (an extra 5%). Payment by cheque is now only accepted as a last resort!

Cancellation

Cancellation We suggest that you take out insurance to cover this possibility. If we re-let after a cancellation we will normally refund a proportion of the deposit. If the cancellation is after the due date for payment of the balance of rent then that balance must be paid. Should the week be filled then all (or a proportion depending on the cost of reletting) of the rent will be re-funded.

Linen etc.

Sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers are provided also tea-towels and bath mats. Towels (2, one hand one bath) may be hired at £3.00 per person if asked for at least a week ahead. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT WE KNOW WELL IN ADVANCE THE TOTAL NUMBERS OVER YOUR LET. There are plenty of blankets and hot water bottles. We can supply a cot and high chair on request but do not normally supply cot bedding.

Pets

Please ask about any pets that you wish to bring. We are normally happy for you to bring them but please keep them off the furniture. There can be sheep anywhere so please make sure that any dogs are under control.

How to Book

Booking Information

We only take bookings a year or less ahead. This is in order to give priority to those there in the current year. (Our percentage of tenants who rebook is well over 70%) . Due to the high popularity of the cottages it is well worth booking early to avoid disappointment, especially in the busy holiday periods. The cottages are generally let by the week from Saturday to Saturday.
